Dublin, Thursday 01 June 2017: The Board of Directors of HEAnet has appointed Kerrie Power as its new Chief Executive.
Kerrie has succeeded John Boland, following his retirement after twenty years leading HEAnet.
Kerrie takes up her new position as Chief Executive today, Thursday, 01 June, following a month-long transition.
Kerrie has over 15 year’s leadership experience and a strong track record in the technology sector. A graduate of WIT, she has worked in Google in Dublin and New York and also Facebook. More recently, she has headed up technology start-ups in Dublin including Nordeus Games and YouPass Technologies.
Kerrie said, “It is a great honour and a thrill to be taking on the role of CEO at HEAnet. I am very much looking forward to the future, building on the strong foundation created by John Boland and the amazing team here at HEAnet – continuing to deliver excellence through infrastructure services, while looking for new relevant technical and innovative solutions to support Ireland in realising its education and research goals. HEAnet is a real asset to the community and I am delighted to be invited to be a part of its continued future success.”
Over the next few months Kerrie will commence the process of meeting clients and will address delegates at our National Conference in Galway in November.
