Louis has over 32 years of experience as an IT professional, the last 18 years of which he has been employed as a Senior Network Engineer and latterly a Technical Architect at HEAnet.

For much of his time at HEAnet he has been responsible, amongst other things, for managing the national eduroam gateways for Ireland, and supporting the rollout of eduroam at the many sites where is it available within Ireland.

He was instrumental in the commissioning of a new professional service whereby HEAnet undertake to install and manage eduroam Radius servers on behalf of clients, with support being provided on a 24x7 basis.
