Sara McAneney, Cyber Security Manager/CISO in Trinity College Dublin, is a senior cyber security professional with extensive experience of managing cybersecurity risk and technical infrastructure in positions in both public and private sector organisations.
As Cyber Security Manager/CISO in Trinity College Dublin, Sara is responsible for setting University policy and ensuring the success of the University Cyber security management program. This encompasses critical areas such as incident management, threat prevention and business continuity planning.
On a daily basis Sara and her team engage with University employees, researchers and students to ensure that cyber security controls are appropriately implemented and managed across the Universities IT and data infrastructure.
Sara also works closely with the University Data Protection officers to ensure that the cyber security requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Health Research Regulations are achieved and to ensure the ongoing protection of the Universities valuable research and administrative data.
Sara is a graduate of Queens University Belfast and holds professional qualifications in the fields of cyber security and data protection. Sara will bring her knowledge and experience of managing cyber security risk in an educational environment to the HEAnet conference. She will facilitate discussion on the unique challenges posed by the sector as well as insight into effective cyber security practices and solutions.
