Hybrid working is normal, our customers have workplace collaboration tools in continuous change. Our other IT services are a mix of on-premise and managed services in various as a service models. IT services and IT people have experienced significant change in recent years. This talk is about us – IT people and our workplace. Our IT departments are multi-generational, diverse and we need to have an intercultural competency as we work are way forward.

Technologies that support Cyber Security, AI, Identity, Research IT, Teaching & Learning IT continue to mature, everyone talks Digital Transformation. Where and how do we find the best fit in this environment?

Are we in IT Departments taking the technology opportunities that are available? Do we make them normal? What prevents us? Do we celebrate the good and learn from the not so good? What can we do? What motivates us? Do we have the time and opportunity to keep our skillsets current? How will legacy systems be maintained into the future?

This talk outlines some small and not so small changes that impact and will impact IT people, our customers, our stakeholders and some future thoughts. It will use examples from MU, across HEI, public and private sectors – interactions good and bad.
